*CONTINUITY: APC EGBE-IDIMU LCDA GAINS MOMENTUM AS WARD-TO-WARD* *CAMPAIGN HITS WARD D—EGBE, AGODO, AND BOLORUNPELU*

July 3, 2025

The All Progressives Congress (APC) continues to build formidable momentum ahead of the July 12, 2025 Lagos State Local Government Elections, as today’s ward-to-ward campaign rally made a remarkable impact across Ward D, covering the communities of Egbe, Agodo, and Bolorunpelu.

It was a vibrant display of unity and political strength as party leaders, members, elders, Ward & L.G.A  Excos , market men and women, artisans, and enthusiastic supporters stormed the campaign venues in a colourful procession—canvassing residents for support and mobilizing votes ahead of the polls. The turnout was a clear testament to the deep-rooted confidence the people have in the APC across the LCDA.

A major highlight of the day was the strategic visitation to revered traditional rulers in the area—the Elegbe of Egbe Kingdom, the Alogodo of Agodo Kingdom, and the Baale of Bolorunpelu Community. These engagements emphasized the APC’s enduring respect for traditional institutions and reflected the alignment between political leadership and cultural heritage. In their separate remarks, the monarchs expressed unwavering confidence in the leadership of the APC and pledged their full support for the party’s victory on July 12 and beyond.

The rally witnessed the presence of influential party figures, including the APC LGA Chairman, Alhaji Akibu Soliu; the Executive Chairman of Egbe-Idimu LCDA, Hon. Kunle Sanyaolu Olowoopejo; the Vice Chairman, Hon. Mutiu Adebiyi; and former Council Chairman, Hon. Waheed Bello (Sunshine). Also in attendance were the APC Chairmanship candidate for Egbe-Idimu and his running mate, Prince Idris Oluomo Balogun (Kafata) and Hon. Tayo Ayinde; the CAN President, Apostle Oshifade; Comrade Oke; Elder Sikiru Giwa; Alhaja Morenike Adekoya; Iya Balogun; and many other notable stakeholders. Their united presence reinforced the central message of party cohesion, continuity, and people-oriented leadership.

In a collective address, the leaders called on the people of Egbe, Agodo, and Bolorunpelu—including religious institutions, youth groups, and community association to come out en masse and vote overwhelmingly for the APC on July 12. They emphasized that the strength of democracy lies in active citizen participation and reaffirmed the APC’s unwavering commitment to inclusive governance, sustainable development, and quality service delivery across the local government area.

The rally also witnessed a dramatic and symbolic moment, as a group of former PDP members publicly renounced their allegiance to the opposition party. In an emotional display, they tore their membership cards and pledged their full commitment to the All Progressives Congress. Their defection sparked jubilation and cheers across the venue, further energizing the atmosphere.

Another notable highlight was the official presentation of the party flag to the APC councilorship candidate for Egbe/Agodo—Ward D, Hon Segun Sanni.

The moment was crowned with the ceremonial handover of the APC flag to the Chairmanship candidate and his Vice, Prince Idris Oluomo Balogun (Kaafata) and Hon. Tayo Ayinde, symbolizing unity, readiness, and continuity.

As the countdown to election day continues, today’s rally sent a loud and unmistakable message—the APC is firmly entrenched in the grassroots, driven by the people’s trust, and poised for a resounding victory.
