*WARD C APC MEGA RALLY: MASSIVE TURNOUT DESPITE RAIN AS OLUOMO KAFATA POMISES TO RUN AN OPEN-DOOR GOVERNANCE*

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Egbe-Idimu LCDA yesterday, staged its Ward C Mega Rally as part of its ongoing grassroots mobilization ahead of the July 12 Local Government elections.
The event, led by Alhaji Akibu Soliu Sanjay (Bobo Party), the APC LGA Chairman of Egbe-Idimu, drew a massive crowd of party faithful, community members, and residents who defied the rain to show unwavering support for APC and its candidates.
The rally featured the party’s Chairmanship candidate, Hon. Idris Balogun (Oluomo Kafata), and his running mate, Hon. Tayo Ayinde, who were received with great excitement by a sea of enthusiastic supporters—including artisans, traders, transport workers, and youth groups—who waited patiently despite the downpour.
Also present were key political stakeholders including members of the Alimosho G18 and Egbe-Idimu G21; outgoing Council Executive Chairman, Hon. Kunle Sanyaolu Olowoopejo, Vice Chairman, Hon. Mutiu Adebiyi, former Council Chairman, Hon. Adebayo Bello Waheed (Sunshine), former Sole Administrator, Hon. Doyin Salami ( Agba), Alhaji Ganiyu Fetuga, Apostle Oshinfade, Comr. M.O Oke, Elder Falode, Alhaji R.O Balogun, APC Vice Chairman, Egbe-Idimu LCDA, Chief K.F Balogun, Alhaji Sikiru Giwa, Mama Adekoya, Hon. Ronke Lawal, ward chairmen, Community Development Committee Chairman who also doubled as the Chairman LOC Sub-Committee on Media and Publicity, Hon. Rabiu Kazeem, councillorship candidates, spiritual leaders, and other prominent dignitaries.
Following prayers and opening remarks by Chief Akibu Soliu (Sanjay) and goodwill messages from Alhaji Fetuga, Apostle Oshinfade and Comr. Oke, a minute of silence was observed in honour of the late High Chief Solomon Akerele, the Le’joka of Ijesha land (Baba Adimula), the respected pioneer of grassroots Progressives politics in Alimosho Federal Constituency.
Hon. Kunle Sanyaolu Olowoopejo welcomed attendees and praised the resilience and loyalty of the party faithful, highlighting the historic significance of the rally as a testament to the strength of the APC at the grassroots level.
In a symbolic gesture of unity and electoral readiness, party flags were presented to the APC councillorship candidate for Ward C, Hon. Kehinde Hassan as well as the Chairmanship candidate Hon. Idris Balogun (Oluomo Kafata) and his Vice Chairmanship candidate Hon. Tayo Ayinde.
In his speech, Oluomo Kafata laid out his vision for Egbe-Idimu LCDA, promising to run an open-door government anchored on transparency, community involvement, and people-focused leadership. He identified key priorities such as economic empowerment, accessible healthcare, quality education, local security, and infrastructure development.
He called on residents of Ward C and beyond—including religious leaders, artisans, youth groups, CDAs, CDCs, and non-indigenes—to mobilize and vote for all APC candidates in the upcoming elections.
The rally reinforced APC’s dominance in the community and boosted campaign momentum, with supporters expressing renewed hope and confidence in the party’s leadership direction.
